Liquor Group Wholesale Implements Expansion plans in Ohio
Columbus, OH - Feb 9, 2009
Liquor Group Wholesale, Inc. (OTCBB: LIQR) expands operations with new approval to sell high proof spirits to the State of Ohio. “Liquor Group and our affiliates have been selling special orders and low proof products in Ohio for years…” says Steven Dodge, Vice President of Control States “…Ohio is consistently one of the top three control states in over-all sales of spirits, we intend to become a major player here just as we are in neighboring Michigan”.
Drinks Americas (OTCBB: DKAM) is expanding its business, adding Willie Nelson’s Old Whiskey River Six Year Old Bourbon in Ohio through Liquor Group. The brand is sold nationally and has received rave reviews from consumers and the trade.
|
“We plan to add several premium brands in Ohio to build a strong position.” said Dodge.

|
Liquor Group’s Innovative Distribution approach is key in growth and development for many mid-sized emerging brands. Liquor Group’s patent pending business model found success with larger well known brands provoking continued expansion beyond their 31 State territories. This ideology and corporate culture offers alcohol brands versatility and flexibility to increase sales and bandwidth while meeting compliance requirements unique to each state.

Liquor Group Michigan Posts Massive Sales Gains Despite Soft Economy
January 2, 2009
January 5, 2009. Novi MI – Liquor Group Michigan posted strong December sales to top off a year that saw a whopping 78% increase in overall case sales for the firm in 2008, placing it firmly once again as the third largest spirits operation in the state. Liquor Group Michigan is an independent SLC of publicly traded Liquor Group Wholesale Inc. (LIQR); and is part of the LIQR distribution network that links operations in 31 states representing more than 1700 brands. The massive case sales increase for the firm ran counter to the trend in the state which saw only a 2.2% case sales increase for all wholesale distributors combined according to recently released figures from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. |

“Sales were up for the year across almost the entire line of fine brands we represent in the state and December was our biggest month ever…” says Steven Dodge, Liquor Group Wholesale's Vice President for Control State Operations. “…the dramatic sales increase shows the result of our staff's hard work at gaining new distribution outlets, and that our firm's active marketing of the brands we represent in order to gain consumer recognition and increased market share is working.
|
Major brand suppliers such as Adamba Imports (www.Adamba.com) showed +44% and Charles Jaquins (www.PravdaVodka.com) showed +33% in total portfolio sales increases under the skillful sales management of Liquor Group. “We are looking forward to an even stronger 2009 as we continue to expand our brand portfolio and see additional growth of the product lines for several brands we represent in control states such as Michigan.” adds Dodge.

Liquor Group Adds to Illyrian Imports Portfolio in Florida
December 24, 2008
Jacksonville Dec. 26, 2008. Florida based publicly owned specialty spirits and wine distributor Liquor Group Wholesale Inc. (LIQR) has added five new products to its portfolio of Southeastern European products imported by Illyrian Imports of Rochester, MI. The additions include wines from Albania, Montenegro and the Piedmont region of Italy as well as a fine aged Slivovitz from Croatia. Liquor Group's Product Manager, Lowell Newman said the firm was "pleased to add additional items from this importer whose products are of unusually high quality and have proven quite popular with ethnic populations, particularly along Florida's central west coast." Illyrian Imports President, Nua Ivezaj points out that, while the products his firm imports and mostly purchased by expatriate populations from the producing countries, their high quality level at very reasonable prices is helping to build a wider following for the products.
|
The Skrapari Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from Albania are produced in one of the oldest wine making regions in the world. Both wines are bold and full bodied examples that pair well with richly flavored foods. Albania is more widely known for its traditional brandies such as the Skrapari Raki Rrushi grape brandy which is also distributed in Florida by Liquor Group.

Plantaze Sasso Negro is a hearty blend of Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Vranac, an indigenous grape of Montenegro. This high quality oak aged red joins the rest of the Plantaze line - Kristac, Merlot, Vranac and Vranac Pro Corde (Reserve) in the Liquor Group portfolio.
|
Roberto Colombi Tullio Barbera is a choice example of this classic Piedmont varietal.
From the intense ruby hue and fragrant fruity nose to the refined tannins and elegant finish this is truly a wine of exceptional quality, pairing well with hearty foods, but equally enjoyable with just a wedge of aged cheese.
Croatia's Badel Slivovitz is a high quality distillation of Bistrica plums that is aged for four years in casks of Slavonian oak, resulting in an exceptionally smooth example of this traditionally fiery libation.

Liquor Group Wholesale Sees Sales Increases, Even In Tough Economy
November 15, 2008

Liquor Group Wholesale advises that period over period product sales are up across all 31 US states where it wholesales alcohol beverages; however Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington and Wyoming sales are up substantially, all with triple digits increases over the same period last year.
|
“This dramatic sales increase is attributed in part to the expansion of our portfolio as well as to additional brand recognition that many unique Liquor Group products have earned, coupled with the reputation for hard work and dedication to sell-through our Liquor Group sales representatives have in the market…” says C. J. Eiras, CEO of Liquor Group Wholesale: “…there’s no “Bailout” needed here, we can thank our loyal customers for that!”
Increases exclude back orders from various suppliers scheduled to hit shelves late November, which will drive up sales further. Many brands report having trouble meeting demand that Liquor Group’s sales force has generated for their products. Since no bank facilities are used by Liquor Group, it continues to grow in this credit starved environment. |

Liquor Group Wholesale, Inc. Announces Fiscal 2008 Results
October 14, 2008
Liquor Group Wholesale, Inc. Announces Fiscal 2008 Results; Operating Income at 22% - Profitable for the year, Unaffected by the Credit Crunch
Liquor Group Wholesale, Inc. (OTCBB: LIQR) today announced its results for their fiscal fourth quarter of 2008. Form 8K filed with the SEC as follows:
The Company announced unaudited net income on a U.S. GAAP basis of $324,923 or $0.037 per share, for the fourth quarter of its fiscal year and overall unaudited results of fiscal 2008. These figures include the costs of the merger with North American Food & Beverage including the time consuming and costly process of bringing the newly merged Company back into full reporting compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission to allow it to trade again on the public markets.
Some of the Company’s key financial highlights for the fiscal year of 2008 include the following:
- Gross margin of 30%
- Operating income of 22.6%
- Cash Flow from Operations of $0.034 pershare (9.5 Million weighted average in Q4)
- $19,025,702 Market Capitalization ($2.00 per share S1 price)
- 33.5% Net Income
- Current Ratio of +1.21 (Liquidity)
C. J. Eiras, President and CEO commented, “The Company has continued to see positive developments in its operations as evidenced by the strong performance in the final quarter of our fiscal year. The Net Income of $324,923 from fourth quarter operations demonstrates that even in this tough economy our Company was still profitable. The continued expansion of high margin brand sales coupled with increased market presence and continued growth of our portfolio has led to positive sales.”
|
Mr. Eiras continued, “The areas of our core business operations that have been positively impacted by our current business practices are increased sales in Control States due to new additions to our brand representation portfolio as well as the expansion of our sales force selling products with increased margins due to our buying power leverage. We believe that with some of the US’s leading premium products we can take advantage of the growing trends in the spirit and wine market as well as the value priced products that are increasingly becoming more main stream.”
The Company earned net income per share of $0.038 for the quarter which would be higher except for the one-time costs of the merger with North American Food and Beverage Corp. The Company provides these results to investors so that they might gain better insight into its underlying business trends from continuing operations. The Company also enjoys the use of a $22 million dollar net operating tax loss captured from North American Food and Beverage in the merger in August of 2007, an asset that has already come in handy every quarter this year to offset tax due on net profits.
Liquor Group Wholesale does not utilize any form of bank financing, floor plans or other credit facilities in its’ business operations. The Liquor Group business model provides us insulation from the current credit market squeeze. Distributors following the "traditional" business model for spirits distribution must have access to the credit market in order to pay for the large supplies of products that they buy for distribution over many months and they count on proceeds from their sales to re-pay the funds that were used to finance the purchase. Our Patent Pending Bailment system allows us to pay only for the product sold with collected funds, eliminating the need to go to increasingly expensive and tight credit sources for funding. This essential difference between the "traditional" and Liquor Group’s Innovative Distribution business model increases our access to many specialty and mid-level mass market brands for our portfolio as other distributors following the "traditional" model are forced to eliminate brands in their portfolios as the credit crunch makes it increasingly difficult for them to find backing to floor plan their product purchases.

Copied from Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch Community:
Jacksonville Company breaks into the public market
October 12, 2008

Liquor Group Wholesale (LIQR) has reached the milestone final stage before trading after their take over of North American Food & Beverage Company (NAFB) and East Coast Beverage (ECBV) of Colorado. Founded in 1986, NAFB was a publicly held corporation with hundreds of individual and institutional shareholders, whose common stock share price on the NASDAQ trading system has topped $11 per share and whose market cap has reached an excess of $220 million dollars. Liquor Group negotiated the conversion of the almost all of the multi million dollar debt of NAFB at closing to stock at a rate of $24.50 per share, and were able to capture roughly $22 Million in NOL Tax carry forward credits as part of the announced deal. The SEC granted Liquor Group Wholesale their Notice of Effectiveness on September 9, 2008.
Founded in 2002 in a home garage in Ponte Vedra Beach with only one product to sell (Happy Vodka) with sales in only the State of Florida, the company grew slowly and organically until March 2005, at which time the decision was made to distribute other brands and expand to new markets. By March of 2006 the company represented more than 600 products in 7 states and by March of 2007 the company had more than 1200 products in their portfolio with sales in 31 states. At their fiscal year end Liquor Group Wholesale represented more than 1700 products including well known brands such as Trump Vodka and Flavored Vodkas, Pravda Vodka, Pendleton’s Canadian Whisky, Willie Nelson’s Old Whisky River, and Old St. Andrews Scotch just to name a few. Liquor Group’s Single Malt Scotch selection is among the largest in the United States representing many top Scotch Specialists with offerings from all major Scotch Distillers including: Macallan, Highland Park, Glenlivet, Ardmore, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Cao Isla, Longmorn, Edradour, Rosebank, Mortlach, Glen Elgin, Old Pulteney and Craiganmore. |
C. J. Eiras, President of Happy Vodka Corporation, managing member of Urban Brands and Spirits as well as owner of the Wild Orchid Vineyards worldwide made the announcement to the financial press which included a glimpse of the new direction of the company: “This brings more than just a new name as NAFB became ‘Liquor Group Wholesale’, it brings a whole new level of opportunity for our shareholders and gives Liquor Group a competitive edge in the liquor distribution industry…” says Eiras “…at this time there are no other liquor distribution companies operating in the US that are publicly traded to our knowledge, which puts us in a unique position to capitalize upon.” The NASDAQ traded Central European Distributing (CEDC) is a close match to Liquor Group Wholesale, and it holds a hefty P/E ratio; however their only markets are Poland and parts of the Eastern Block in Europe so they do not compare with the potential market share here in the US. Diageo (DEO) is an ADR traded on the NYSE, however its operations are mainly that of a brand owner and marketer of beverages with no declared distribution ownership in the US. LIQR is a unique trade as it offers full service distribution, consulting and importation to brands in the Liquor industry on a multi state basis.
Liquor Group Wholesale applied to NASDAQ and the SEC to retire the NAFB stock symbol and obtain the symbol LIQR. Liquor Group Wholesale began the implementation of all US wholesale operations of Liquor Group effective immediately after the September 2007 contract closing date however the approval of the SEC filings and the application for the LIQR symbol are recent events and should be settled prior to the first annual report filing of the new regime.
“This deal has been in the works since early 2006 and we are very pleased to see it come to fruition…” says Arnold Rosen, NAFB shareholder representative and board member “…with the keen business savvy and excellent management team at Liquor Group, the new direction for LIQR is very exciting!” Rosen is well known for his activities in the Real Estate Market, however he became a director of NAFB in 1999 during a former restructuring as he has been a major shareholder in the company for many years and remained on the new board of directors.
|
The board of directors is a veritable “who’s who” in the Liquor industry, entertainment business and corporate world, including Lou Maggio, a retired long time executive at VENUS Swimwear and CEO of Ring Productions, a motion picture production partnership with construction equipment gurus Ring Power and John Travolta’s attorney Mark Ossi, Esq. Steve Dodge, the control state coordinator for Liquor Group and state manager of Liquor Group Michigan, a 20 year liquor industry veteran, who joined Liquor Group after holding the General Manager position at the multi-million annual case distribution operation of General Wine and Liquor for 12 years. Steve Wang, President of First Coast China, a supplier of beverage bottles manufactured in the Orient is also a long time business consultant on Asian affairs and markets. Jan Phillipe Eiras, CEO of Quadrus, a US Missile Defense Contractor and software development firm, who brings to the board a senior level of corporate management experience as well as software engineering and planning for future IT growth of the organization. Lou Frezza, owner of VORTEX Management, whom manages celebrities and musicians, including the rising starlet Charity Hodges, TV Host of Speed Channel’s #1 rated show NOPI Tuner-Vision. Lowell Newman of Liquor Group rounds out the board; a former archeologist for the Smithsonian Institute and former wine consultant for ABC Fine Wine and Spirits, Newman acts as the “nose” of the company, making brand distribution selection suggestions based on taste profile and overall value and merchantability.
LIQR may use its public trading stock in the future to acquire additional companies within the alcohol beverage industry that can lend an advantage to widening the Liquor Group’s distribution channel and stretch the overall bandwidth of the organization. The management team believes in leveraging shares rather than utilizing cash purchases, doing so through stock swaps with variable trounces while retaining the ownership and management team though the mutual success goals of increased share price greatly increases the likelihood of long term success in these types of transactions. The company intends to open spirits brokerages services in the balance of the 18 US control states within 2008, and will expand additional license state operations during this period as well.
Liquor Group is best described as a consortium of privately held organizations that operate as full service licensed alcohol beverage importation, distribution and brokerages, with activities in 31 US States, the US Military and several International countries. Although LIQR is now publicly traded, the other Liquor Group entities shall remain separate private enterprises. |

Liquor Group Gets into the Spirit with CMSC Spirits
September 20, 2008
Florida based publicly owned specialty spirits and wine distributor Liquor Group Wholesale Inc. (LIQR) has been contracted to represent New Jersey based CMSC Spirits Group’s Espiritu del Ecuador and The Spirit of Liberty liqueurs in Florida, with representation in other states to follow shortly. The first things you will notice about these products are their distinctive bottles modeled on famous monuments of North and South America, but the liqueurs inside will excite your palate.
Espiritu del Ecuador is a cordial liquor combining the flavors of twenty exotic Ecuadorian fruits, nuts and spices including mango, peach, pear, apple, cherry, chocolate, vanilla and almond in a cane sugar alcohol base that provides a smooth finish to this 60 proof libation. CMSC Spirits Group President, Tina LoBosco points out that the very complex formula gives Espiritu del Ecuador the ability to be enjoyed in a wide range of beverages and foods. It is suggested that you sip it straight like a brandy, chilled or on the rocks, but you can also be creative and add it to cocktails where its flavor blends well with fruit juices, sodas or a wide variety of other spirits. For an after dinner treat you will find that this liqueur mixes extraordinarily well with coffee, tea or milk and it is marvelous over ice cream or blended with yogurt. Another aspect of the versatility of Espiritu del Ecuador is its capacity to compliment dishes prepared in the kitchen ranging from appetizers, soups, sauces and stews to baked goods and desserts. |
In addition to Espiritu del Ecuador's unique flavor, another exclusive aspect of identification is the eye-catching 750ml decanter, a replica of the structure known as "The Monument at the Middle of the World". The equator passes through Ecuador just a few miles north of Quito, the Capital of Ecuador, where a large stone monument is located at latitude 0'00". The decanter is a tribute to this monument which is located close to the Espiritu distillery and bottling facility.

The Spirit of Liberty liqueur is a blend of the finest American flavors that combine harmoniously into a smooth cream liqueur with a taste that will keep you coming back for more. Bourbon, cherries, apples and cream are the dominant flavor notes in this 36 proof winner from the 2006 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Enjoy it straight, chilled, on the rocks, in a variety of mixed drinks, as a desert topping or added to coffee. The tasty and tempting combinations are limitless. With 1/3 fewer calories, a higher proof level and a smoother finish than the nation's leading cream liqueur this is bound to become your new favorite. |
The stunning Statue of Liberty bottles (9 inch tall 100ml and 17.5 inch tall 750ml) are an iconic symbol of the best that America has to offer and have become top sellers in the duty free shops at New Jersey's Newark International Airport. An easy-pour 750ml round bottle with a Statue of Liberty illustration is also available along with gift sets. The superior taste, unique packaging and competitive pricing make it the perfect gift for any occasion. “We are excited, to represent these beautifully packaged and delicious liqueurs,” says Liquor Group President, C.J. July 16, 2008
Liquor Group, the specialty spirits distributor, has signed a deal with Lantrix to represent Argentina’s best kept secret, Isla N Rum. Available in 4 distinct styles White Rum, Gold Rum, Lemon Rum, and Coconut Rum. The quality is in the details with Isla N Rum. All the rums are produced in 100% copper stills, with the “slow distillation” method. The molasses used to make Isla N is carefully selected for high sugar content, which improves the aromas; Canadian yeast is used in a slow controlled fermentation process. Isla N Rum is one of the purest rums in today’s market due to the attention to craftsmanship, and the desire of perfection. Isla N Rum only uses the heat of the rum, holding true to Isla N Rum’s boutique distiller’s values in quality over high product output. The result is a work of art in every glass.
|
Isla N White Rum is an 86 point, rated by Bar & Drinks Magazine, premium rum. This is one of the few types of white Rum with real French Oak aromas. Isla N White Rum is filtered in natural minerals from North Argentina; the result is a rain-fall clear rum that retains its entire original flavor. Isla N White Rum will enhance the flavor of your favorite cocktail.

Isla N Gold Rum is the newest edition to the Isla N family and is the perfect blend of French-oak aged rums, perfect to be sipped on the rocks.
Isla N Lemon-flavored Rum is the perfect choice for your “rum and cola” drink. With its natural lemon flavor we suggest something a little different, try Isla N Lemon with either tonic water or ginger ale.

Isla N Coconut-flavored Rum is smooth and sophisticated. Isla N Coconut is one of the best selling spirits in the world. Unlike the leader in the coconut rum category adds alcohol to their spirit. Isla N Coconut is bottled pure and naturally flavored. A great suggestion for the summer is adding Isla N Coconut to a cosmopolitan.

How do you say “Luxury” in Polish? Liquor Group Knows.
March 27, 2008
Adamba Imports International has signed Liquor Group to represent Luksusowa Vodka. Luksusowa’s (which means Luxury in Polish) base is a distinct strain of potato grown on the Baltic Coast, and while the myth persists that most vodkas are made from potatoes.
The truth is very little of vodkas are; the majority of vodkas are made from whatever is cheap and readily available, grains mostly. The fact is, it takes ten times more potatoes than it would take grain to make 3 times distilled Luksusowa Vodka, which translates to smoother textures and richer taste. Blended with pure, un-polluted artesian well water, Luksusowa is devoid of minerals that could crystallize in vodka and cause undesirable sediment. Luksusowa Vodka is big, bold, the ester oils are pronounced with herbal notes that rest and hold on the tongue, but very silky smooth sliding down. |

The nose and undertones both are described as caramel sweet, with an earthy mineral kick. Luksusowa is a proud to have won 4 gold medals, including the International Selection of Quality in Switzerland, and the highest international gold medal of all, the prestigious “Gold Medal with Palms” in Athens. Maybe the highest compliment itself comes from Pablo Picasso, who said, “The three most astonishing things in the past half century were: the blues, cubism, and Polish vodka.” New to the Luksusowa product line are the Luksusowa Flavors, luxury with a twist and the European pleasure of adding a hint of natural flavor to vodka. |
Luksusowa Citrus Flavored Vodka is subtle with the hint of zesty lemon, giving Luksusowa a crisp, refreshing taste that is easily complimented by a splash of tonic water. Another suggestion would be to try a Luksusowa Citrus Collins.
Luksusowa Wild Berry Flavored Vodka has the rich natural flavors of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, cranberries and a touch of wild cherries all blended together to create a burst of wild berry flavor. May we suggest trying a Luksusowa Wild Berry Sea Breeze, to enjoy during to summer?
There are plenty of drink recipes and ideas at www.luksusowa.net , the Luksusowa website. For more information on any of the Luksusowa products or any of the other brands represented by Liquor Group, visit the website at www.LiquorGroup.com or call 1-866-REACH-LG (1-866-732-2454) |

Liquor Group welcomes Ruskova Vodka
March 24, 2008

Liquor Group, the Innovative Distributors, and Anson Importers Ltd have signed an agreement to allow Liquor Group to represent Ruskova Vodka from Russia. This 6 times distilled, premium grain vodka was awarded 90 points, Gold Medal, Best Buy by the Beverage Tasting Institute. Ruskova is bottled and produced in a State-of-the-Art, and privately owned, Russian Distillery. Also the Distillery grows and harvests only the finest grain in creating Ruskova Vodka; only water from an underground spring is used. |

Ruskova is produced in a Pot Still, which is the same method used for Single Malt Scotches, and Small Batch Bourbons. The value pricing is a strategy that Russian entrepreneur Oleg Lazanovitch borrowed from the “playbook” of noted winemaker Fred Franzia, by forgoing the fancy bottle trend and allowing Ruskova Vodka to stand toe to toe against brands that retail for 2 to 3 time more than the price for Ruskova Vodka.
|
“That’s why Ruskova Vodka’s slogan is, Pay for the Vodka not the Glass”, says Liquor Group Michigan Manager, Steve Dodge, “ Ruskova is doing for vodka what Franzia did for wine, with Two-buck Chuck and Four-buck Fred.” Lazanovitch is quoted saying ”We are already out-selling many vodka brands that have been in the market for along time and retail scan data shows us growing at a really fast pace.”
Ruskova is Clear, lightly spicy, with cream and mineral oil aromas. Supple and very smooth and soft textured. Ruskova has delicate anise and cream flavors. An elegantly, graceful oily fade that is smooth and classy.
For more about Ruskova Vodka, you can visit the Ruskova website at www.ruskova.com as well as, www.LiquorGroup.com for information on Ruskova and the many other products and brands represented by Liquor Group. Liquor Group presents Argentina’s Premium Rum
March 21, 2008
Liquor Group, the specialty spirits distributor, has signed a deal with Lantrix to represent
Argentina’s best kept secret, Isla N Rum. |

|
You can visit the Isla N Rum website at www.isla-n.com . To find out more about Isla N Rums or any other products available through Liquor Group visit www. LiquorGroup.com or call

Liquor Group does Sundance
January 17, 2008 - Park City, UT
Liquor Group joins Florida Film Commission at Sundance 2008, To Host World Premiere Reception for “The Year of Getting to Know Us”
Park City, Utah-Sundance: The Year of Getting to Know Us has joined the Sundance 2008 Film Festival to be screened in the official Premiere Category. The World Premiere is slated to debut on January 24, 2008 with a lavish invitation only reception to follow, sponsored in part by Liquor Group and the Florida Film Commission.
The Year of Getting to Know Us is a USA full length feature film directed by Patrick Sisam, whose most recent oeuvre includes Rescuing Desire and the critically acclaimed Wedding Banquet. Produced in part by Lou Maggio, under his RING Production, LLC banner, the dramedy is a saga of domestic discord and reconciliation.
A father played by Tom Arnold and son played by Jimmy Fallon are closer in blood but painfully divided by the diverging course of their lives. The moral motion of the film is fairly predictable-the departure, the return, and redemption of the prodigal son who grew up to become a commitment phobic man. He reunites with his estranged ailing father and in ways unexpected comes to terms with his own childhood.
Ultimately they discover how much they have in common. The Year of Getting to Know Us is a dramedy about life and finding the humor in it. Featuring other A-list actors such as Sharon Stone, Lucy Liu and Illeana Douglas, it is a universal story of family and their ineffable joys and agonies.
|
Filmed in Jacksonville, Florida where Liquor Group is also headquartered, The Year of Getting to Know Us (working title Eliot Rocket) is right on it’s scheduled its production and release. This is a rare instance in the precarious arena of self financed independent films.

First announced by the JEDC Film & Television office in February 2007, the production has been on an accelerated fast track since. By April, it was crewed up and shooting principal scenes on location in and around historical and lush Jacksonville, Florida. “The local budget came in on its estimated 2.5 million with supporting business to have increased that figure by an additional million or so. With catering, housing, ground transportation and all the incidentals that are not directly film related the economic impact has been very favorable,” states Todd Roobin, JEDC Film Commissioner.
The Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton lauded the Year of Getting to Know Us when it was announced during a news conference last year. “I am extremely pleased to see a local Jacksonville business invest, produce and help promote films utilizing our beautiful city and dedicated workforce. The Year of Getting to Know Us is the types of production that makes a significant contribution to our film and television infrastructure, local economy and enhances our film reputation to the major motion picture industry.”
|
States Maggio, “Ring Productions is right on schedule to produce one to two independent films each year, with Jacksonville serving as the main filming location. The Company is comprised of partners including Lance Ringhaver, Ed Machek, Mike Ossi, Howard Butler and Lawrence Najem, who bring their own expertise and film knowledge to the company. In addition to, the law offices of Ossi, Butler, Najem & Rosario, who represent the William Morris Agency and John Travolta.
“With my partners and I being natives of Florida, our goal is to bring original feature productions and documentaries to the Jacksonville market that resonate with audiences everywhere while we utilize the local workforce and supporting businesses in the area,” said Lou Maggio, President & CEO of RING Productions, LLC.
Liquor Group is sponsoring the After Party Reception and a lavish hospitality room throughout the Sundance Film Festival January 17 through the 27. An innovative specialty spirits distributor based in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. “It is our goal to sample some of the finest mixologists' creations instead of simply displaying our products in and around Sundance. Among those premium artisanal sprits gracing throughout the Park City confab are Happy Rum with its winking smiley face logo, some of the finest scotch this side of Braveheart, from the house of Gordon MacPhail, and RU the official Vodka of the Imperial Court of Russia,” confirms Liquor Group President/CEO C.J. Eiras.

Smiles sell sweet spirits
January 7, 2008 - Daytona Beach, FL
As published in the Daytona Beach News Journal
Written by Audrey Parente
Red Rum tastes great with pineapple juice, said Leesa Benz during a liquor-tasting demonstration recently.
"It's my favorite," she oozed, impersonating Marilyn Monroe, the blonde bombshell she has been identified with locally for more than a decade.
It's an act Benz of Ormond Beach has capitalized on in the past as a part-time entertainer, but recently it's paying off in liquor sales.
She started out last year as a taste demonstrator for various liquor products for Liquor Group Distribution, a 6-year-old, mid-sized liquor and wine distributor based in Ponte Vedra Beach.
But after having unusual success with her taste testing at local liquor stores, Lowell Newman, Liquor Group's executive, said he made her a sales representative and gave her an entire territory of her own - stretching from St. Augustine to Melbourne - including Volusia and Flagler counties.
"Leesa is a little different, very enthusiastic . . . and it works for her," Newman said.
It also works for C. Scott Sharps, vice-president of Sharps Discount Liquors, who just opened his fifth liquor store. Four of Sharps' sites are in Volusia County, the latest in Daytona Beach Shores. But the first was in Flagler County, opened by his father 11 years ago when the family relocated here from Vineland, N.J.
Sharps said his liquor business has been steadily growing: "We have seen increases every year."
He also noticed the unusual results of Benz's unique presentations.
"Our distributors all have people come in and do tastings on specific products they want people to be more privy to . . . new products or ones people might not be used to - and they (the people giving samples) might sell a bottle now and again," Sharps said. "But it would be a shock if she (Benz) didn't sell more than 12 or 18 bottles (at one tasting)."
The Ormond Beach woman with the bubbly personality, a Seattle native, worked for Estee Lauder Cosmetics before she joined the Navy in 1989. After her military service she returned to the cosmetic company in San Diego. Benz moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1994. |
She was crowned Mrs. Daytona Beach in 1998 and competed but didn't win the Mrs. Florida crown that year. After that, for a number of years she made radio and television commercials and worked in the hotel industry.

In 2003, she hosted a public access TV talk show, interviewing such guests as former Hawaiian Tropic owner Ron Rice, Florida Sen. Evelyn Lynn and the rock group Foghat. This year the TV show moved to Internet television.
During all the years and previous careers, Benz performed her Marilyn impersonation at local auto club events, for the Post Office during the unveiling of a stamp honoring actress Marilyn Monroe, at art openings, music award affairs and various public venues.
Her busy life came to a crashing halt three years ago when Benz nearly died from a brain aneurysm.

"It was a freak thing," Benz said. "I had brain surgery. I was very fortunate from what the doctors have told me. I pretty much came out unscathed."
After months of recovery, the first person she interviewed for her Internet television show was her neurologist. |
"Then I went back to work at the Plaza Resort and Spa for about a year until I was recruited by "Perfect Wedding Guide," she said.
She spent three years with the guide, and the demonstrations for Liquor Group were just a sideline until the opportunity to handle her own territory was too good to pass up.
"The Marilyn look always helps," she said. "People are intrigued with that. You also have to be personable and friendly.
"I make sure to talk to every person, even if I am busy. I look up and see a whole bunch of people come in and run to them, make eye contact, whip them up a drink," she said. "I am amazed people will just take a sip and they are sold."
There might be more to it. Benz has a grabbing sense of humor.
No separate liquor license is required by her to do the taste testing, provided the store has the proper licensing, but she is not allowed by law to sample beer.
On her table, among the bottles of Red Rum, Voo Doo Rum and an occasional smiley-face bottle of Happy drinks such as Happy Vodka and Happy Gin, is a frothy beer bottle with a beer spill.
Out of the blue Benz will gasp in dismay at the bottle, catching the attention of anyone who isn't already watching her - but no problem. It's just a rubber joke prop. However, as soon as she has all that attention, she goes to work doing her spiel.
"Just the attention I give people is all I need," she said. "Although with some people, you have to take more time with them and tell them about the recipes, like Shining Red Apple - Red Rum with hot apple cider - or how you can use the (smiley-face) bottles as a vase or candleholder."
Cutline: Leesa Benz hands out Voodoo and Red Rum samples to customers at Sharps Discount Liquors in Daytona Beach recently. It's a new career for the eye-popping Marilyn Monroe impersonator.
News-Journal/ AUDREY PARENTE
Leesa Benz, a former Mrs. Volusia County and now a liquor representative, is shown in this undated photo impersonating Marilyn Monroe.

At this years event the museum will be presenting the "Smile Award" to the Massachusetts Lt. Governor Timothy Murray, who grew up in Worcester & was most recently the Mayor of Worchester. The award was created to honor a Worcester resident who has made significant contributions to the community. The 2006 Harvey Ball drew 500 people and it is anticipated that 550 people will attend this years festivities.
|

Harvey Ball died at 79 years old in April of 2001 only four months prior to Eiras’ creation of the Happy Vodka product line. “I wish I had a chance to meet Mr. Ball, it would have been an honor and a privilege to shake the hand of the man who has made so many people in the world smile and feel good about the world.” says C. J. Eiras, President of Happy Vodka Corporation and Liquor Group Wholesale. |
Happy Vodka also donated Martini glasses and other Happy Vodka, Happy Rum, Happy Tequila and Happy Gin memorabilia for the silent auction at the event to help raise money for the museum. Happy tries to make the world smile one bottle at a time with a slogan of: Don’t Worry…Drink Happy!TM The slogan at the Museum is: Celebrating the past to inspire the future... which is certainly apropos, as Happy Vodka’s very logo draws from an inspiration from the past and has created a bright future for many in the liquor industry!

Liquor Group Posts HUGE Gains in Sales!
October 3, 2007 - Novi, MI
Liquor Group Michigan, the fourth largest spirits brokerage in the state announced today that their average weighted case sales from September 2006 to September 2007 are up more than 1000%! These massive increases are due in part to the untapped sales potential in many of the fine products that are represented as well as the financial leverage granted to Liquor Group Wholesale by utilizing their Patent Pending Bailment Distribution system. Utilizing the services of Liquor Group, major brands such as Pravda Vodka have seen increases of sales into the 1000% range on a month over month basis and the entire portfolio of distilleries such as Hood River Distillers have enjoyed average monthly sales increases of more than 200%! The Happy line of products has shown a steady triple digit increase in sales as well as many of the 1600+ products represented by Liquor Group.
|

“The growth of sales is staggering…” says Steven Dodge, VP of Control State Operations for Liquor Group “…many other brands are struggling to meet last years numbers, however our portfolio continues to gain momentum breaking sales records each month.” This dramatic upward sales trend is not common in the industry, as the average growth in spirits is only about 5-8% per annum, making Liquor Group a hot commodity in the spirits sales arena. |
Although Liquor Group uses cutting edge technology for sales ordering and inventory management, the values of the organization are very traditional. “Brands have to understand our approach and embrace it to enjoy the fruits of success…” says Lowell Newman, VP of License State Operations for Liquor Group “…as in any business venture, you reap what you sew, and we try to work with brands to help them invest marketing dollars into programs that will yield them long term success, not just short term sales increases.” This approach has proven time over time to bring success to brand owners and importers willing to support their products in the marketplace.
With the percentage of sales increases that are being posted, who can argue with the logic?

.RU Vodka Line Moves to Liquor Group in Florida
September 30, 2007 - Orlando, FL

VMI Ltd., importers of RU Vodka, the leading Russian export vodka line, has selected Ponte Vedra Beach, FL based Liquor Group to represent the brand in the Florida market. Importer Mike Dowling said that the selection of Liquor Group was based on the firm's dedication to brand development and their emphasis on product tastings to promote brands. "Even with annual world-wide sales of over a million cases we still see ourselves as a growing brand. We know that RU is a high quality product line and Liquor Group's sales approach will assure that many more people will actually taste the difference between RU and other brands. We first placed the line with Liquor Group in Michigan and their success there convinced us to make the same move in the even larger Florida market" |
RU is serious Russian Vodka, with a quality level that is high enough that the brand was recently recognized by H.H. Prince Michael Romanoff as The Official Vodka of the Russian Royal Family. The ties between the Romanoff family and the vodka industry go back to at least 1763 when the distillery where RU Vodka is produced was founded under order from Catherine the Great. Only the finest Russian grown rye and wheat and pure Russian spring water are used to quadruple distill RU Vodka, yielding a classic Russian spirit with a delicate but distinctive nose and a whisper smooth finish. The RU line includes the straight Classic Vodka along with Lemon, Apple, Black Currant and Pepper flavors. The flavored products are notable for their natural fruit/spice flavors while still retaining the elegant finish of the Classic. The sleek contemporary design glass bottles are also Russian made and will soon appear with the recently authorized Romanoff crest uniting Russian tradition with modern style.
|
Liquor Group Product Manager Lowell Newman noted that "The extremely high quality of the RU Vodkas fits well with our portfolio of specialty spirits. Vodka may be the dominant category in the spirits field, but all vodkas are not created equal and RU offers a combination of quality and price that is impossible to beat. Tasting is believing and we plan to make believers out of thousands of Florida drinkers who will soon have the chance to sample RU Vodka."
The entire RU Vodka line is available in 750ml, 1 Liter bottles and 1.75 Liter bottles are available on all except the Pepper flavor. The products have begun to appear in Restaurants, Bars and on Retail shelves throughout the state.
For information on the availability of RU Vodka in your area please contact Liquor Group at 1-877-REACH-LG (1-877-732-2454).

May 23, 2007 - Ormond Beach, FL
The boutique California Wine portfolio held by Egghead Wine Company has been placed for statewide Florida distribution with Liquor Group, a specialty distribution house based in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Egghead President Beth Eggleston noted that the placement of the California portfolio with Liquor group will result in wider distribution of the products throughout Florida, and will allow her to concentrate on adding more wines from additional wineries and other points of origin to the Egghead Wine Co. line. "Liquor Group has always concentrated on distribution to the Fine Restaurants and Independent Retail Stores who are the natural market for our boutique products. With their sales team handling the sales I can devote more of my time to building the portfolio. I grew up in the French and German Wine import business and I am looking forward to having the time to develop a European portfolio that matches the high quality of our California offerings." The initial California offerings available through Liquor Group include:

Elkhorn Peak Cellars. This small winery in Napa's Jamieson Canyon area produced only 471 cases of its 2005 Chardonnay and roughly 1500 cases of the highly rated 2002 Pinot Noir (90pts Wine News, 91pts Robert Whitley on Wine). Winemaker Kent Rasmussen has built a solid reputation for finely crafted wines that emphasize the fruits natural characteristics and these two are firmly based in that tradition.
|
Farella-Park Vineyards. Located in the cooler southern portion of Napa Valley, this family run operation produces only 1200 cases each year, with the majority of their fruit being sold to some of the most prominent wineries in the region. The splendid 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon (300 cases) and the 2005 Sauvignon Blanc (207 cases) are both 100% varietal fruit from the "Combsville" estate vineyard. Additional Farella and Farella-Park wines will become available with new vintage releases.
Milano Winery. The Starr family runs this Mendocino County winery that produces high quality, easily accessible wines including Big Ass Red, a big blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Carignane and Petite Sirah, and Sunshine, a white blend of French Colombard, Muscat and Semillion that is crisp and sweet.

Prager Winery & Port Works. St. Helena based Prager has a well deserved reputation for producing some of the finest American Ports and Dessert Wines. Their currently available products include 2002 Aria White Port (100% Napa Chardonnay, 761 cases), Lodi Petite Sirah Port (739 cases), 2003 Royal Escort Vintage Port (1100 cases, will age for decades), and 2004 Sweet Claire Late Harvest California Riesling (1398 375ml bottle cases). Additional products will become available upon release.
Tremani Vineyard. This Russian River Sonoma County vineyard was planted ten years ago by the three siblings (Tremani means "three hands" in Italian) who still run the Vineyard, Cattle Ranch and Trucking Operation. Their 2005 Pinot Gris is aged 80% in Stainless Steel and 20% in Old Oak (for 4 months).
|
Wing Canyon Vineyard. Located on Napa's famed Mount Veeder, this 13 acre vineyard produces some of the finest fruit in the valley. The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon (600 cases) blends 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 8% Merlot and is aged for 40 months in a combination of New Oak (1/3) and Old Bordeaux Chateau (2/3) Barrels.

Liquor Group Product Manager Lowell Newman noted the unusually high quality of the entire Egghead Wine Co. portfolio. "With the recent launch of our Wine Division we were committed to maintaining the high quality level that is evident in our Spirits Portfolio. The early addition of the Egghead Wine Company products clearly signals that our Wine Portfolio will be comprised of high quality and unusual products. We look forward to expanding the market for these fine California wines and to the addition of more wines from Egghead in the coming months."
Initial shipments of the California wines in the Egghead Wine Company portfolio have arrived at the Liquor Group warehouse and the products will begin appearing in fine restaurants and on retail shelves in the coming weeks.

Liquor Group yells FORE!
May 12, 2007 - Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
Everyone knows that golf and Scotch Whisky go hand in hand, the liquor industry knows that fine Scotch and the Liquor Group (www.LiquorGroup.com) are nearly synonymous…so it is no wonder that Old St. Andrews Whisky Limited (www.OSAWhisky.com) has selected Liquor Group to exclusively represent its’ full line of Scotch Whisky products in the US. These distinctive products are a staple of golf gift giving, and Scotch drinking, with a variety of “patent protected” white and clear glass 50 mL golf ball shaped mini bottles to mid and jumbo sized golf ball bottles.
The Old St. Andrews Scotch products are award winning for their clever design, thoughtful packaging featuring historic golf greats and as quoted by Jim Murray, world renowned whiskey critic and author of the Whiskey Bible 2006 (www.WhiskyBible.com) “Old St Andrews Clubhouse Whisky (Score 90 – Brilliant) is clean as a whistle: both malts and grains are young but proudly so. Mouthwatering: clear as the morning dew on the first green and no less grassy. Fresh and lacking any sort of pretensions. It has quality enough.”
|

“Two of the great things Scotland has given to the world are whisky and golf. At Old St. Andrews we put both together in a bottle for all to enjoy.” says John Donald, President of Old St. Andrews Limited who has been selling premium Scotch in golf ball shaped bottles for over 30 years. “This product has always been a winner as evidenced by the longevity and breadth of worldwide sales…” says Gray C. Solomon, Managing Member of Liquor Group “For Liquor Group to be selected to exclusively market this product line in the United States is a great honor for our organization.”
The first shipment of Old St. Andrews reached Liquor Group in the first week of January, 2007 due in no small part to the excellent logistic services provided by Exel Transportation (www.Exel.com) who through the years has exclusively provided International Logistics and Container Transport for Liquor Group and is a key component of our rapid success.
|
Liquor Group boasts the largest selection of single malt Scotches available in the United States, with offerings from most every major distillery in Scotland. This is due in no small part to their commitment to training of their sales staff and education of their customers. “Our customers have been begging us for this product ever since we announced the contract to them…” says Lowell Newman, Brand Ambassador for Liquor Group “…now it’s finally time to deliver it to them!”
Liquor Group began marketing the golf ball bottles immediately, first in Florida and Michigan, then in several more of the 31 US states in which Liquor Group operates based on availability; with additional sizes available as more shipments arrive in the US. “The Control States will accept Old St. Andrews Golf Ball Scotch bottles with open arms…” says Steve Dodge, Liquor Group Michigan State Manager “…the packaging alone will sell tens of thousands of units in every state we offer it, and of course the country clubs and golf community will be all over it!” Liquor Group is ‘Teeing Up’ this great product so watch out for it, or should we just say ‘fore’!

New Zealand's unique and award winning Chesnique Chestnut Liqueur has made its first U.S. market appearance with the arrival of its first shipment to its Exclusive U.S. importer Liquor Group, a fast growing specialty spirits distribution network based in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
This newcomer to the Premium Liqueur category is produced from whole sweet chestnuts primarily sourced from the 1200 chestnut trees at Cheswood Estate in Onaero, Taranaki on New Zealand's North Island, matured for a full year prior to bottling.
When awarded a Gold Medal for Liqueurs in its first showing at the prestigious World Spirits Competition Chesnique was described as "…sweet, earthy, smoked, syrup-like liqueur that bides well with the pallet. A very unusual treat for the senses..." Judges at the 2006 SIAL Global Food Marketplace in Paris, France rated Chesnique third in a field of 25 international liquor products at the competition.
|

Keith R. Young, Chief Executive of Cheswood Estate N.Z. Ltd, says he has been quite gratified by the international response to this wonderful new product and is excited by the prospect of entering the U.S. market with the assistance of Liquor Group. "I feel that the combination of our top level hand crafted product with the specialty spirits marketing abilities of Liquor Group will result in Chesnique Chestnut Liqueur rapidly gaining wide spread distribution and recognition throughout the United States".

|
Chesnique's dark amber color sparkles in the eye-catching rounded Italian glass decanter style bottle and is nicely complimented by the stunning black and gold foil label with its ripe chestnut illustration. "But it is the quality of this unusual product and its amazing versatility that will lead to widespread sales…" says Liquor Group Brand Ambassador, Lowell Newman "Whether straight, on the rocks, in a martini, in coffee, or blended with milk, cream or coffee liqueurs this is a taste treat for anyone wanting a change from the usual. It deserves a spot on the bar of every high-end club and restaurant, and in the liquor cabinets of discerning drinkers."

April 15, 2007 - Novi, Michigan
Liquor Group Michigan signs the Harbrew Imports spirits portfolio, while additional LG states are under consideration. Harbrew has selected Liquor Group for representation of the balance of their portfolio in Michigan as a strategic move towards alternative distribution. Liquor Group Michigan is one of the newest subsidiaries of Liquor Group (www.LiquorGroup.com), a spirits, wine, beer and bar supply distribution organization operating in 31 US States and several international markets. “Harbrew offers unique products that are readily identified and enjoyed in the Michigan Market…” says Steve Dodge, Michigan State Manager for Liquor Group “…the Hot Irishman Irish Coffee Brand and the Molly’s Irish Crème are staples of cold weather alcohol consumption and Tis’ the Season!”

The Harbrew Portfolio includes Molly's Irish Cream, The Hot Irishman, Georges Vesselle Champagne, Yanjing Beer, St. Andrews Whiskey, XQ Tequila, Red Hammer Vodka, Clock O’ the North and Lion Gri Wines. Pravda Vodka in Michigan
March 28, 2007 - Amherst, NY
Importer Charles Jacquin et Cie, Inc. has placed its Premier Polish Luxury Vodka brand Pravda with the Michigan brokerage services of Liquor Group Michigan, part of the fast growing Liquor Group spirits distribution network based in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
Jaquin's Vice President, Jim Colosi said that the selection of Liquor Group was a logical choice given the firm's great success in the marketing of high quality spirits, "With Pravda widely recognized among the world's finest vodkas, we naturally wanted to make use of the best available brokerage firm in order to rapidly expand the brand's market share in Michigan. We are confident that Liquor Group will be able to meet the high expectations we have for this brand."
Pravda is classic Polish rye vodka with roots going back to the 1740s, and is now made in an ultra-modern distillery in the Carpathian Mountains of Southern Poland. There, late harvest sweet rye and pure mountain spring water go through a rigorous five column distillation process and extensive charcoal filtration, leading many to claim that Pravda is the world's smoothest vodka. An eight person taste test of each batch and exacting controls on the bottling process insure that the product that reaches the consumer will deliver the ultimate vodka experience. Pravda is available in 50ml and 750ml bottlings, with both sizes also seasonally available in attractive gift sets with two glasses. |
Pravda Vodka has begun a massive brand distribution realignment coupled with an aggressive advertising and marketing blitz aimed at increasing awareness though hands on demonstration and customer participation. This type of hands on approach is what Liquor Group is well known for, and scheduled promotions include the “Judge for Yourself” tasting campaign wherein the Pravda demonstrator allows the consumer to taste test Pravda Vodka against several other brands such as Grey Goose Vodka, Level Vodka and Belvedere Vodka to name a few. This type of head to head competition lets the consumer decide whose vodka tastes the best, and the Pravda management team feels very comfortable that the average results favor their brand at a very high rate.
Liquor Group Michigan's State Manager, Steve Dodge, a 25 year veteran of brokerage and distribution business in the state said that his firm was very pleased to have added this highly regarded brand to their portfolio. "Our statewide sales force is excited to have the chance work with Pravda Super Premium Vodka. Pravda has created quite a stir in other markets and we look forward to having great success with it here in Michigan." Liquor Group's Managing Member, Gray C. Solomon, noted that the eye-catching frosted bottle with its sparkling jewel accent was "…a fitting package for this exceptional product." Pravda is yet another “jewel” in the Crown of Liquor Group, whose portfolio has now grown to more than 1200 spirits products, ranking it among the largest spirits distributors/brokers in several US markets and the 4th largest in Michigan and Florida.

Scotch Specialists and Independent Bottlers, play an important role in the Scotch Whisky Industry, continuing a tradition in Scotland first recorded in the 1800’s. So you might ask, “What exactly is a Scotch Specialist?” Just as the name suggests, the Scotch Specialists offer a fantastic range of special Scotch whiskies by acquiring rare and unusual whisky casks from almost every Scotch distillery. These casks are matured by the Scotch Specialists in a variety of manners, and are bottled and presented under their own label denoting the producing distillery directly on the face of the bottle in accordance with Scottish Law. Even distilleries that are currently 'mothballed' or those that have been completely dismantled for years have Specialist offerings from stockpiled casks, thus keeping these brands from disappearing altogether. A few Scotch Specialists are also Independent Bottlers that own their own bottling facilities, ensuring greater control and quality.
Scotch Specialists purchase from distilleries and brokers limited editions of rare, premium single malt whiskies from specially hand selected casks to offer a limited edition bottling, typically yielding between 320 and 2,500 bottles. There is literally no comparison in terms of quality and character between the Scotch Specialists product and the standard single malts or blends from any Scotch distillery.
While the Scotch Specialists have been active for more than 200 years, their goods are relatively new to the United States market due to limited production availability, which makes these products difficult for distributors to administer and inventory. Enter Liquor Group, (LiquorGroup.com) with its focus on quality products and exemplary service, unilaterally representing the top three Scotch Specialist companies: |
Gordon & MacPhail (the largest and oldest at nearly 110 years old and an Independent Bottler as well), Signatory (Established in 1988 an aggressive Specialist and also an Independent Bottler) and Murray McDavid (the boutique Specialist). Liquor Group also has several other smaller Specialists in their portfolio. These Specialists provide multiple offerings from the top distillers in terms of vintage, finish and proof, including but certainly not limited to the following renowned distilleries: Macallan, Highland Park, Bowmore, Glenlivet, Ardmore, Auchentoshen, Caol lla, Edradour, Longmorn, Imperial, Isle of Jura, Rosebank, Mortloch, Pulteney, Strathmill, Tamdu, Benromach, Altmore, Glen Elgin, Clynelish, Bunnahabhain, Linlithgow, Caperdonich and Glen Scotia.
Consumers, enthusiasts and fine dining purveyors are always searching for the best rare, special whiskies to satisfy their thirst for quality and the unusual. Specialist Scotches are highly desirable to the real whisky connoisseur as an opportunity to sample a rare vintage offering or a different taste profile from their favorite distillery. Scotch Specialists are true innovators in the industry seeking the finest quality available and utilizing methods uncommon to the industry; Philip Morris of Decanter Magazine says "Gordon & MacPhail can be said to have been the pioneers in malt whisky, for they were bottling and selling malts (50 years) before the marketing of single malts was ever conceived."
Many specialist scotches are in their purest form, Cask Strength, which gives the connoisseur a real treat. Whiskies are normally bottled at 40% to 46% (80 to 92 proof) through the addition of water. Cask Strength refers to the whisky being bottled as it exists in the cask with no water added, and ranges from 100 to 120+ proof! |
An increase in demand for more specialist whiskies has caused the desire for an extension of their product ranges to offer a variety of intriguing aspects. Often the Specialist chooses to ‘finish’ the Scotch by placing it into used sherry, port or bourbon casks for several months prior to bottling to enhance the flavor and the complexity of the Scotch. They typically also offer ‘natural color’ wherein the Scotch is bottled without addition of caramel coloring. Other attractive Specialist processes may include omitting the chill filtering process aka: ‘Unchillfiltering’ to maintain the true profile and taste characteristics of the Scotch. Modern methods used by most if not all distilleries for single malts and blends include the use of chill filtration devices that eliminate fatty oils and tannins that accumulate in the casks, which in turn polishes the spirits, eliminating the naturally occurring cloudiness and thus some of the flavor is lost as well.
It is exciting that a broad range of Scotch Specialist offerings are now available in several US markets through Liquor Group which offers over 80% of the Scotch Specialist products available in many major markets. Scotch Specialists/Independent Bottlers offer a vital service to discerning whisky connoisseurs the world over and can now be experienced and enjoyed through the efforts of the Liquor Group, whose Sales Representatives are thoroughly trained in the outstanding products they represent and are ready to educate retailers and restaurateurs about the mysteries of the Scotch Specialists.

Near Beer?
June 24, 2006 - Orlando, FL
The 2006 American Home Brewers Association Conference: “Gator Tails and Better Ales” draws thousands of visitors to the Sunshine State to explore the latest trends in the brewing and consuming of beer products. This year the members of the American Brewers Association were given a treat as Liquor Group put on a Scotch Specialist and Bourbon Tasting Class with a packed house in attendance. Similarities between beer and whisky brewing made this a shoe in opportunity to be “Near (the) Beer” lovers’ conference, which proved to be a fun and educational time for all.
Lowell Newman, a representative from the Liquor Group highly trained and knowledgeable in spirits manufacturing and characteristics orchestrated the event and wowed the crowd by offering them a splendid array of scotches from Gordon & MacPhail, the World's Leading Malt Whisky Specialist.
For more than 110 years Gordon & MacPhail has been carefully selecting, maturing and bottling malt whiskies for the true Scotch connoisseurs’ enjoyment. |
G&M is the largest Scotch Specialist in the world with product offerings from a broad range of operating and closed distilleries, some dating back into the 1800s.

Liquor Group represents the top 3 Scotch Specialists, G&M, Signatory and Murray McDavid, as well as several smaller specialists, which provides it the broadest and best Scotch portfolio available in the United States.
As an added bonus the guests were allowed the privilege of sampling the finest bourbons available in the world: Black Maple Hill’s 11 and 16 year Single Barrel Bourbon offerings. |
Guests also enjoyed a sampling of Maker's Mark, the only bourbon distillery to use pure, iron-free limestone spring water exclusively, not processed city, well or river water; supplied by a 10-acre limestone spring-fed lake at the distillery. At the end of the event, a select group of members of the board of the American Brewers Association were given an additional treat as they were given samples of Empire Distilleries hand crafted Rye Vodka, Orangegella and Limonella Liqueurs.
Knightly Liquors, a sophisticated independent Liquor Store chain throughout the Orlando area hosted the event, providing these libations at a special price for the attendees. Nearly every guest left with a bottle in tow, or a special order for that special occasion, which left these beer brewers in “high spirits”.

Motor City Madness!!!
June 23, 2006 - Novi, MI
Liquor Group, a liquor distribution and sales organization currently operating in 31 US States and several International markets has once again expanded their operations. The creation of Liquor Group Michigan, a licensed liquor brokerage and wholesale wine & beer and bar supplies operation marks the next in a series of growth that has made this company a player in the US liquor market. The new Liquor Group Michigan office is based in suburbs of the “Motor City” Detroit, in Novi Michigan.
Although a small portion of Liquor Group’s portfolio of products have been distributed in Michigan for years, the brokerage support for these products were spread across several of the major Spirits Brokers within the state, none of which provided adequate support to meet the needs of those brands. This prompted Liquor Group to begin the planning for the creation of an independent brokerage house in Michigan in December of 2005. “The state controlled liquor distribution infrastructure of Michigan creates a unique opportunity for Liquor Group…” says Gray C. Solomon, Managing Member of Liquor Group “…and the unavailability of sales support through the existing major brokerage houses coupled with the tremendous market fragmentation allows us to move in with our entire portfolio with relative ease and to offer other spirits brands a harbor in the storm.” |
Months into the planning development of this new venture, the opportunity arose to hire one of the most well known and respected fixtures of the Michigan liquor industry to manage the new company: Steven Dodge. Dodge has more than 25 years experience in spirits, wine and beer distribution and implementation, the most recent 19 of which was spent as the General Manger for General Wine & Liquor Company, the second largest Authorized Distribution Agent (ADA) in Michigan, with 6.5 Million case movements per annum in the market.

Dodge brings to Liquor Group Michigan a breadth of understanding of the Michigan market, the intricacies of the supply chain and the fundamentals that other brokerages cannot currently provide to major brands in the market. Realizing that the majority of brokerage houses in Michigan are derivatives of the three ADA’s in the state, and as such cannot offer complete service to the multitude of brands listed for sale in the state, Dodge turns this into an advantage of Liquor Group by offering major brands the opportunity to have dedicated sales staff for their specific brands under the umbrella of Liquor Group Michigan. |
Liquor Group has leveraged their relationships with brands represented in other states to create an immediate portfolio of products available for sale into Michigan numbering nearly 500 SKU’s from day one of the operation. This makes Liquor Group Michigan the fourth largest spirits brokerage portfolio in Michigan, before the doors ever opened! Brands normally associated with Liquor Group including Happy Vodka and the entire “Happy” product family is the first to begin to utilize the brokerage services of Liquor Group Michigan, and the proprietary electronic ordering system developed for Liquor Group will be immediately deployed to all sales representatives in the state. Other distillers and products such as Bendistillery, Three-D Spirits (Red Rum), Empire Distillery, Sans Wine & Sprits and Gordon & MacPhail are all entering the state for the first time with Liquor Group.
Liquor Group will work diligently to expand operations in new markets in tandem with their established markets, with a goal to open 2 states per year at a minimum. Whether control states or license states, if not already there, Liquor Group is coming to your state soon!

Liquor Group experiences a growth spurt!
June 10, 2006 - Liquor Group
(www.LiquorGroup.com) expanded it’s portfolio of spirits in several of the 21 US States in which it operates, to more than 530 offerings. This importer and distributor of award winning spirits, wines and specialty beers sees no signs of slowing growth, and recent activities in the spirits industry are helping to fuel the fire. The addition of products such as the Gordon & MacPhail Scotch Specialist Portfolio has given Liquor Group a lock on their already successful Scotch Specialty market in several US States, and their overall territory market share continues to grow with each brand that is added to the picture. With more than 100 brands in negotiations or on the horizon, the potential for growth seems unlimited.
After a 2005 growth curve of more than 800% in products and more than 8000% in total company sales, Liquor Group now stands to enjoy even more growth in 2006 due to recent successful negotiations with several major liquor brands. The consolidation in the industry has helped fuel the growth of Liquor Group, a company originally created just to manage the sales of Happy Vodka has parlayed the successes of that single brand into a multinational business operation ranking among some of the largest players in the field. One instance that is sure to bear out for Liquor Group is the pending merger/buyout between the second and third largest liquor distributors in Florida; Premiere Beverages and National Distributing.
|
Liquor Group’s Florida Division, whom already holds the 4th largest portfolio of spirits in Florida according to the Department of Business and Professional Regulations, will by default become the third largest spirits portfolio in Florida, and will likely pick up many brands left without a home due to the merger.
Brands, brand owners, suppliers and importers such as: Happy Vodka, Bend Distillery, Signatory, CVI Brands, Cia De Banana, Three D Spirits, Chesnique, Terra Vermelha, Fuego Pisco, Shotski’s and many more have enjoyed great increases in product sales due to the efforts of Liquor Group. Many of these companies choose to utilize Liquor Group in multiple states and countries in an effort to consolidate sales efforts, allow for sales representative cross training and house centralized shipping solutions made available as service options for suppliers.
The growth does not stop there, as the Michigan, Virginia and Georgia operations of Liquor Group are all showing promising double and triple digit growth numbers beyond the norm in the industry. Liquor Group has now commenced with merger and acquisitions of several vendor and broker companies, which will increase their overall size and ability to support the market.
|
The Innovative Distribution approach used by Liquor Group is another of the bevy of reasons why this organization has grown so much in what is considered a glacial 3% growth marketplace. Using a completely vertically digitally integrated order and delivery system developed internally by the company using cellular phone, blue tooth® and internet technology, the entire sales force, administrative, accounting and delivery teams are coordinated in their efforts to move products quickly and efficiently, with most customers receiving their orders within 24 hours of placing them... how’s that for innovative?
So what does the future hold for Liquor Group? Well without saying too much, you can expect much more "wine-ing" from the sales force in the near future, and you can expect new state markets to open throughout the US. Additionally, the company plans to continue the organic growth that it has enjoyed by adding more salespeople, introducing more products to the market and offering more services to their growing base of customers, rather than adding more management and executive staff that can hinder growth and productivity. With these types of performance figures, the growing pains are certainly worth the trouble!

Eiras goes Urban?
May 25, 2006 - Jacksonville, FL
May 25, 2006 - Jacksonville, Florida: BEVSPY reports that C. J. Eiras, President of Happy Vodka, Happy Rum, Happy Tequila and Happy Gin Corporations (www.DrinkHappy.com) and owner of Orchid Vineyards, the vintners of the exclusive multi-award winning Wild Orchid Estate Wines (www.OrchidWines.com) announced today that he has decided to go Urban…Urban Brands that is! Eiras has orchestrated the 100% buy-out of Urban Brands & Spirits. through careful negotiations with the previous ownership group. The terms of the deal are undisclosed, but the popular Party A Go Go (www.PartyAGoGo.net) booze in the box party product created by Urban Brands and their proprietary bottling facility and moved more than 60,000 cases in 2005 with distribution in many major markets throughout the US and Canada making Urban Brands a multi-million dollar asset.
Eiras is no stranger to the spirits industry, once an industry outsider with a single brand: Happy Vodka founded in 2001, Eiras has now successfully developed the Happy product line into a worldwide success and proved to wine aficionados with his Orchid Vineyards (www.OrchidVineyards.com) that a small vineyard working in the age old traditional manner can create excellent wines, good enough in fact to win not one but two Platinum “Best of Show” awards for two years running at the World Wine Competition. (www.WorldWinesCompetition.com) |
The Party A Go Go portfolio includes: Classic Lime Margarita, Long Island Iced Tea, Appletini, Cosmopolitan, Blue Passion Fruit, Lemon Drop and of course the Chocolate-tini! Each is made with real alcohol not just flavored malt. The pre-made martini drinks will now be formulated with Happy Vodka and the Margarita will now feature Happy Tequila!

Party A Go Go uses a unique delivery system which allows consumers to use a portion of the 1.75 liter bag in the box pre mixed alcohol drink and then store the balance un-refrigerated for up to 1½ years without spoilage. Other features of this product make it superb for boaters, campers, travelers and event goers who need not worry about multiple bottles to mix a single drink, nor broken glass, nor large waste to dispose of, nor spoilage due to moisture or long term storage. Urban Brands had invested heavily into this technology with specialized bottling lines, unique bags with air-tight liners and equipment tailored to the bag in the box delivery system valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. |
Plans for Urban Brands include the transformation of the Party A Go Go product line into a more diverse and recognizable staple, along with the fostering of other projects in conjunction with major record labels and television networks tied into the Urban market. Reworking the brands to be more “retailer friendly” is job #1 for Eiras, with #2 being the addition of new formulas to the product mix and #3 to begin co-branding with other popular spirits products.
All of this research and development effort goes un-noticed without the sales of a powerful distribution network; therefore as with all of Eiras’ other brands, Liquor Group (www.LiquorGroup.com) has been selected to represent all Urban Brands products worldwide. Liquor Group begun by acquiring a new listing for Party A Go Go in the Control State of Virginia, with initial product hitting shelves in the state during press time. Liquor Group will take over existing distribution arrangements in TN, KY, NE, MN, ID, OH, IA, MO, TX and CA, adding even more states to their expansive operations to support Urban Brands growth curve. The Urban Brands portfolio is already available through Liquor Group in Florida and Michigan. With 31 states in the circuit already, you can expect to see Party A Go Go in a store near you by year end!

Number Four in Number Two
March 18, 2006 - Ponte Vedra, Florida
In the sleepy village of Ponte Vedra Beach ("Golf Mecca"), a once tiny liquor sales organization has rapidly gained strength and products to become the fourth largest spirit portfolio in Florida, which by volume is the second largest spirit market in the country. With it’s humble beginnings as a manufacturers representative for Happy Vodka (www.HappyVodka.com), Liquor Group (www.LiquorGroup.com) now has operations in 21 US States, several Canadian provinces and a few international markets, with facilities and staff prepped and ready to move quantities of the 400+ products they now represent through their various distribution channels. Liquor Group has also formed strategic alliances with companies such as Exel Transportation (www.Exel.com) and FedEx (www.FedEx.com) to manage the explosive growth and logistics concerns.
It is hard to argue with their methodology; growth of more than 1000% last quarter, sales increases upwards of 800% per year and cost per unit decreases of 15% on average are performance numbers not seen since the dot-com boom. Fueling the growth is a team of dedicated individuals who believe that alcohol beverage products should be represented and sold in a consistent, honest, vendor friendly open cards manner rather than through the ‘used car’ methods of subversive tactics, complicated discounts and chain friendly pricing schemes.
|
"We TRULY consider the vendors that sell our products when we set up our pricing, always allowing our customers a minimum of 30% markup to national average retail price, something no other distributor offers..." says Gray C. Solomon, Managing Member of Liquor Group, the parent company of the operation. Straight forward pricing, no minimum orders, no discounts and only modest "cost of shipping" adjustments for large single point delivery customers makes Liquor Group products friendly to independent vendors, which generally make up the majority of Liquor Store and Restaurant licenses in the market.
Product selection also plays an important role, and again Liquor Group has made smart choices for their portfolio. Some of the finest products available in the alcohol market such as the four and five star rated Black Maple Hill Bourbons, Signatory Scotch, winners of the 2005 Whiskey Magazine Bottler of the Year, Crater Lake Vodkas, Gins and flavored vodkas as well as bar suppliers such as Shotski’s all make for a selection that will stand up to any discerning client’s wishes. With all of these factors in play, it is no wonder Liquor Group has grown the way it has.
"All of this growth has come with a cost..." says Liquor Group Florida Sales Manager Jody Jordan "...we all work about 50 hours per week on average, with most of our sales force are moving towards 60 hours on average... |
and it is only going to get worse as we continue to grow in other markets." As upper management in the company continues to search for new talent to bring into the fold, they find it is very difficult to hire quality sales representatives with the proper skill set. Liquor Group does not generally hire from the liquor industry, as it chooses to train employees from scratch rather than trying to retrain old and often bad habits out of seasoned sales representatives. Education on products and the industry is a cornerstone of Liquor Group, as each rep must learn a manual with more than 250 pages of product specific knowledge and insight. However, if a rep does not know the answer to a specific question, they are not afraid to admit it and find someone within the organization to solve the problem. This type of open door policy also makes a difference in the overall operation according to Jordan.
In a multi-billion dollar spirits industry, with astonishing growth curves, what more do you ask can Liquor Group accomplish? "Much more!" says Solomon. Future expansion plans include the buy out or phase out of non-owned broker sales organizations in several markets, the addition of several more state territories and implementation of even more aggressive strategy of growth. Who knows, maybe they will see 2000% next year?

Three Piece Swimsuits?
March 10, 2006 - Sarasota, FL
We have all heard of the one piece, even the two piece swimsuit, but in Sarasota Florida the Convention and Visitors Bureau: Spirit Of Sarasota (SpiritOfSarasota.com) has introduced the third piece of the puzzle...the dining bib! Chefs from more than 30 top area dining venues will gather on Restaurant Week May 16th through 21st to showcase their cuisine with a unique twist: their recipes will include one or more of the spirits products provided by Liquor Group (LiquorGroup.com), including Crater Lake Vodka®, Crater Lake Hazelnut Espresso Vodka®, Mazama Infused Pepper Vodka®, Licor De Banana® and RedRum® Tropical Fruit Flavored Rum. These chefs will be challenged to create mouth watering appetizers, succulent dinners and desirable deserts while using each of these award-winning unique spirits to enhance the outcome. Chefs will interact with the diners, offering cooking lessons, tips and activities for them to participate. |
Sarasota and Her Islands are diversely comprised of Sarasota, Longboat Key, Lido Key, Siesta Key, Casey Key, Venice, Manasota Key, Englewood and North Port. The highest concentration of Zagat-rated restaurants in Florida, mostly independent, locally-owned eateries reside in this region. These restaurants introduced their Iron Chef-esque challengers to their first test at the press day event held on Monday March 13th, as a bevy of reporters including representatives from NPR Radio, Gayot.com, Martha Stewart Living, New Tampa Style, Citysearch.com, National Post, The Globe & Mail, Sun-Sentinel, Delta Sky, Continental Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, Travel World International, MSNBC.com, JustSayGo.com, Senior Marketplace News, Northern Colorado Woman Newspaper, FL International Magazine and Tallahassee Magazine gathered for their first taste of the event. Needless to say, the large group of reporters left with a belly full of culinary creations and now has many great food stories to share.
|
The main event starting May 16th however, will encompass thousands of locals and tourists alike, dining on the best that the area has to offer. "These Sarasota Chef’s have really outdone themselves..." says Carinne West, Sales Representative for Liquor Group’s Florida Division "...the spirits they are using to create these marvelous dishes are great to drink, but who would have thought they would also be great to EAT!" All we have to say about foods made with Crater Lake Vodka®, Crater Lake Hazelnut Espresso Vodka®, Mazama Infused Pepper Vodka®, Licor De Banana® and RedRum® is...yummy.

Golf, Art and Scotch, (not necessarily in that order)
March 21, 2006 - St. Augustine, FL
In the oldest city in North America, Golf, Art and Scotch, (not necessarily in that order) were the buzz at the Inaugural PGA Golf Organizations’ "First Tee Scotch Tasting" charity event. As Gaelic music sundered in the background, crowds awaited for their chance to enter the grand ballroom at the elegant and historic Casa Monica Hotel in downtown St. Augustine. Once all gathered for these rare examples of fine single malt, single cask scotch offerings, they were greeted by a procession lead by a bagpipe player bellowing Scotland the Brave followed by renowned Scottish Scholar Byron Cassell along with Myra Schick, all dressed in Scottish traditional Prince Charlie and Tartan garb. Thereafter, education about and consumption of the finest scotches in the world commenced, featuring Scotch Specialist Signatory, with |
Single Malt Scotch offerings from all regions of Scotland including rare offerings such as: 1994 Edradour, 1992 Highland Park, 1991 Rosebank, 1990 Macallan, 1989 Glenrothes, 1989 Caol Ila.
As a bonus, a distillery bottling of Edradour 10 year aged Scotch was also sampled to allow the connoisseurs to distinguish the differences between Chillfiltered and Unchillfiltered scotch. This event offered a unique opportunity to enjoy history and insight on distilling of Scotch along with the education of the unique characteristics of these fine offerings with tasting notes and commentary.
SanMar Art Publishing featured Golf related art at the event from internationally recognized artist McKenzie, who created several paintings including a special painting with commemorative limited edition prints of her work entitled It's Never Too Early to Learn in honor of the PGA’s work with mentoring children.
|
These paintings were auctioned off at the end of the event raising thousands for this worthy cause. The Liquor Group, a distributor managing Florida’s fourth largest spirits portfolio presented each of these fine Scotches from their 250+ Single Malt Scotch Distillery offerings, including specialty scotches from all major distilleries in Scotland. Broudy’s Liquor Stores supplied customers with these fine scotch products after the event, as the appetite for fine scotches was certainly whet at the completion of the event.
To draw the event to a close, Cassell taught the crowd the traditional toast of Scotland, the Gaelic: Slainte Mhath (pronounced Slan-gee Varr) and the traditional Gaelic response to the toast as well, so not only was their Scotch whisky education a foot, but there was also Scottish language education as well!

Liquor Group goes Mini!
December 24, 2005
Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
The liquor distributor that only 6 months ago had the smallest portfolio of 26 licensed distributors in Florida, is now the fourth largest in the state, and to show everyone that the fame has not gone to their heads, the sales team at Liquor Group has decided to go Mini! Yes, those unusual looking tiny cars from England are now the norm at Liquor Group, with each sales representative ordering their favorite color combinations from crème white to flame red! The decision was an easy one, as the sales managers from each territory determined that offering these fun cars to the sales team would be a unique way to give a perk and save a buck. “The minis make financial sense, they are great on gas, cheap to insure, have no maintenance, are very customizable, easy to add spirit brand advertising signage to and the sales reps love them!” |
says Jody Jordan, Sales Director for Liquor Group Florida “I ordered myself one in gunmetal gray.”
These cars will double duty as promotional vehicles for the Liquor Group’s Portfolio of products, with decals ranging from the Happy Vodka smiley faced logo, to the Signatory Scotch Emblem and even the Crater Lake Logo all slated for the sides and tops of these cars, giving them the racing look that attracts attention at events. |
Even the managing member of Liquor Group, Gray C. Solomon has gotten in on the action, personally taking delivery of the first Mini at Liquor Group, which he is determined to drive as much as possible for client meetings and events, setting an example for the organization as a whole. “I know it looks funny to see a big guy like me try to get in and out of this clown car…”says Solomon “…but I will say this much, I have never had a client forget meeting me when they see me pour out the side of it!”
One thing is for sure, Liquor Group’s Innovative Distribution approach certainly isn’t small business by any stretch!

Liquor Group goes Mini!
February 26, 2005
Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
Happy Vodka, Happy Rum, Happy Tequila and Happy Gin sponsor "The Tonight Show" host Jay Leno for a witty lecture as part of the Florida Forum. The irresistible comedian and host of the Emmy Award-winning "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" is widely considered one of the nicest people in show business and his "everyman" style and personality helped him earn millions of fans worldwide. Among those fans are the military troops he entertained in 2001 who were taking part in the war in Afghanistan, and those involved in the 1995 peacekeeping mission in Bosnia. Jay Leno particularly enjoys live audiences, and performs on college campuses, Las Vegas and other venues. An author as well, he has recently written a children's book, "If Roast Beef Could Fly."
|

Other publications include "Leading With My Chin" and four volumes of "Headlines", which features humorous newspaper headlines and clippings, the proceeds from which are donated to charity. |
Just as Happy's goal is to make the world smile one bottle at a time, Leno's goal is to make everyone laugh and have a great time, which he accomplished in brilliant form during his visit to Jacksonville. "Jay and I share a common interest in automobiles, in fact the first time I met him was at the Hemming's Car Museum, he made me laugh then, and he made me laugh at this wonderful event as well!" chuckled C. J. Eiras, President of Happy Vodka Corporation.

Happy sponsors the First Annual Florida Film & Entertainment Gala!
November 10, 2004
November 10, 2004 – Happy Vodka, Happy Rum, Happy Tequila and Happy Gin enthusiastically sponsor and support the efforts of Governor Jeb Bush, the Florida Office of Film & Entertainment and Film Florida as hosts the of the First Annual Florida Film & Entertainment Gala in Hollywood, California! The party is staged at The Globe Theater, one of Hollywood’s greatest meeting places; located in CityWalk at Universal Studios, Hollywood. This exclusive invite-only reception for more than 500 of LA’s most talented and influential industry insiders is being given to showcase just how incredible Florida is as a place to film their next feature, television show or as the setting for their next commercial production. What better way to encourage the entertainment industry to utilize the beauty, resources, talent and affordability of Florida than by getting them “buttered up” with some ‘Happytinis’ and then striking the deals!
“Happy Vodka was created in Jacksonville, Florida, our corporate offices are here, and we bottle ‘Happiness’ at Florida Distillers…” says C. J. Eiras, President of Happy Vodka Corporation “…we think everyone should come to our home state, especially the movie and television industry, a group who consistently enjoys Happy products at their events!” |

That is no joke, as Happy products were featured at such star studded events as the 2003 & 2004 Emmy’s, Sean Connery’s Dress to Kilt party, Jim Carey’s recent DVD release, the SeaBuscuit private party and the Kim Basinger & Pierce Brosnan IDA charity awards banquet!” Happy always seems to have a celeb story, and at the recent NBA All Stars Party in LA, Tom Hanks jokingly made a comment about the smiley faced bottles: “Forrest Gump didn’t make this vodka, it’s from some crazy guys in Jacksonville!”
It’s true that Happy is no stranger to the stars, with celebs such as Sean Connery, Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Wilkinson, Elijah Wood, Tobey Maguire, Jeff Bridges, Chris Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Gary Stevens, William H. Macy, Rob Reiner, Charlie Kaufman among others who have been part of the success of Happy! Quentin Tarantino was
|
photographed on two continents with Happy, once at the Cannes Film Festival in France and then in LA at the Silverlake Film Festival. “Following up on the successful sponsorship of the SilverLake Film Festival in LA, this event will be a good industry push for Happy as well as a great thing for Florida…” says Gray C. Solomon of Liquor Group, (another Florida based firm) “…LA craves Happy products, but we still do not sell the products in California, I guess at this point we are almost teasing them with it!”
Todhunter International, makers of Cruzan Rum and the fine family of Cruzan Flavored Rum products will also be sponsoring this event, as their corporate offices as well as major operations are in Florida and they would also like to see more entertainment production done in the Sunshine State. Cruzan’s distillery is in the US Virgin Islands, surrounded by beautiful tropical locations that are easily accessible through Florida for filming and production as well.
“Come on over, it’s Florida!” says Eiras “What more should we have to say?” We couldn’t agree more!

Happy Flies Into North Carolina!
August 1st, 2004,
The State where the Wright brothers first took flight at Kitty Hawk is now the State where you can “fly in some Happiness”! Happy Vodka, Happy Rum, Happy Tequila and Happy Gin are now all available via special order in the great State of North Carolina! The Happy Family was first introduced to the State by pallet order by our friends at Fort Bragg, supported by a ‘Happy' welcome home party for our troops in association with Venus Swimwear! Camp Lejeune followed, as did Seymour Johnson AFB. Then at the NABCA trade show in Marco Island, Florida, North Carolina local board representatives saw with their own eyes how people positively reacted to the family of Happy products and how much fun could be had while enjoying these products.
|
Now all of the Happy products have been approved for special order import into the State of North Carolina and can be found not only at military installations but they can all be special ordered at regular retail stores!
If you live in North Carolina, all you have to do is ask your state liquor store manager to bring you some ‘Happiness'. David Sparrow of Sparrow & Associates, the Happy brands broker in the states of North Carolina and Virginia, was “Happy” to see all four products available for special order. |
“This is a step in the right direction for a brand that we feel will be around for a long, long time!” said Sparrow.
Variety is the spice of life and the same goes for liquor products, as State boards order up Happy for their customer needs and spread the Happiness throughout North Carolina! “Chalk another one up for the Liquor Group sales department!” says Gray C. Solomon of Liquor Group “Now go out and get ‘Happy', North Carolina!
